Riket are a band from Sweden t hat plays a straight forward form of death metal and this is a review of their 2016 ep "Avarter" which was released by Scarecrow Records.
A very melodic guitar lead starts off the ep along with some death metal growls a few seconds later and high pitched screams are also utilized at times while all of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them and the riffs also use a great amount of melody and solos are also used quite a bit throughout the recording.
Some of the riffs bring in elements of thrash and as the ep progresses their is also a brief use of fast playing and blast beats on a couple of tracks while the main focus remains on more of a mid paced style that utilizes a great mixture of both old school and modern death metal influences and the music also remains very heavy from beginning to ending of the recording.
Riket plays a style of death metal that is mostly mid paced while also being very heavy and melodic at the same time in the Swedish tradition, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics are written in their native tongue and cover dark themes.
In my opinion Riket are a very great sounding death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out t his ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Dovt Ar Dodens Dan" and "Svart". 8 out of 10.
